Dr. Karen Fahrni DC

Dr. Karen Fahrni is the owner and chiropractor of Columbia Chiropractic. Born and raised in the Columbia Valley, Dr. Fahrni found it natural to move back home following the completion of her education. She has a love and passion for the outdoors and when not in the office, you will often find her skiing, hiking and enjoying lake activities. Dr. Fahrni's interest in chiropractic started during her competitive swim career, where she recognized the importance of injury prevention and care through the natural approaches chiropractic provided. Dr. Fahrni graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She later went on to graduate from University of Western States in Portland Oregon with a Doctorate in Chiropractic. Dr. Fahrni is also certified in Active Release and Graston techniques and focuses on gentle manual joint manipulation and soft tissue techniques to treat and prevent musculoskeletal conditions. She has a keen interest in sports chiropractic and has volunteered her time treating at the Penticton Ironman, Portland Marathon, Crossfit Games and is the current trainer for the Columbia Valley Rockies Hockey Team. Dr. Fahrni is also the head coach for the Columbia Valley Otters Swim Club and serves as the Kootenay Regional Director for SwimBC.
Janessa Williams BC RMT

Janessa completed a 3,000-hour Massage Therapy Diploma in 2014 at the West Coast College of Massage in New Westminster and is a Registered Massage Therapist in the province of BC. Working at a clinic in New Westminster over the following year, she made a positive impact with her patients and came highly recommended. She gained experience treating many different musculotendinous conditions and other soft tissue disorders. Her methods offer quality patient care and treatments tailored to each individual. She is trained in a wide variety of modalities and techniques including trigger point release, myofascial release and pregnancy massage.
Having grown up in Fairmont Hot Springs, Janessa has an appreciation of the outdoors, which inspired her to pursue a natural form of health care. She believes that we should utilize what nature gave us in the first place to improve and preserve our health, just like the healing power of massage.
