What is Graston Technique®?

Graston Technique® is a form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization that enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. The technique utilizes specially designed stainless steel instruments to detect and effectively treat scar tissue and areas of inflammation. Scar tissue limits range of motion, and in many instances causes pain, which prevents the patient from functioning as he or she did before injury. The Graston tools effectively help the doctor detect and breakdown scar tissue which prevents recovery.
What to expect from your Graston® Treatment?

During your treatment session, Dr. Fahrni will use the Graston® instruments to detect adhesions and scar tissue in the affected areas. Once the abnormal tissue has been identified, the instruments are used to break up the scar tissue so it can be absorbed by the body. It is common to experience minor discomfort during the procedure as well as some bruising and temporary discoloration afterwards. This is a normal response and part of the healing process. Most patients have a positive response by the 3rd to 4th treatment
